Picked up a couple old straight razors at an antique shop and want to remove the pivot pins to take out the blades and clean the tangs. They are very simple peened over pins, but the handle materials are old and fragile and I don't know how to go about it. Is there a simple way to remove them without damaging the handles? Any help or a point in the right direction would be appreciated....Jeff

hey jeff take a punch and a big hammer and drive em out! just kidding probably be best to drill them out and make new ones when you put it back together

when you drill them out, make sure your center punch the pin, and start of with a small dia. drill bit. best to do this in a drill press. if you don't center punch it'll swing around the pin and tear the heck out of your handles.
