Help with pricing

Gentlemen,

I have 3 knives I need to sell and I have no idea what to ask. I'll probably put them on forums I regularly read-Ebay is way too complicated for me (I'm an old guy).

1. Benchmade CQC-7 right handed 31/2" grey steel plain blade. Purchased new circa 1998. Pocket carried for about 6 months before I figured out it was illegal in San Antonio. Never sharpened, never cut anything (if you don't count my thumb the first time I opened it).

2. Benchmade CQC-7 LEFT handed 4" black half serrated blade. Purchased new circa 1998. Never carried, never cut anything, never sharpened.

3. Cold Steel Tanto 6" stainless blade (not San Mai) stainless guard & pommel. Black leather sheath. Purchased new circa 1995. Never carried, never sharpened, never cut anything.

Generally, I'd like to know what's a fair price. I'm not running a museum, but I can't afford to give them away, either.

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Joe

There are quite a few different versions of the CQC-7 and the prices vary a good bit between models, pics would help here or a complete model number. Pics would also help with pricing on the Tanto including pics of the sheath. Actually E-Bay can help you with pricing as you can watch auctions for the same knives as you have and see what they sell for. This can give you a baseline to price your knives from.

Normally for NIB you should realize about 85% of the price they sell for new and on the on you carried it really depends on the condition but if it looks good then about 10% less than NIB. I realize this doesn't give you prices but it gives you a place to start looking.

Thanks, I'm working on pictures. I was born before 1950 and I can't figure out how to get the film into the computer. Best, Joe

There are a couple of ways to get the film in Joe...lol. First if you have a scanner that will suffice for ID purposes, you can find info on how to do so here...

If you have digital pics you can learn how to post them here...

If you have any specific question feel free to msg me and I will try to help you out.

I did have a question on the Cold Steel, according to my quickie research the Master Tantos were all San Mai, were they offered in plain SS in the 90's?

Actually, you are correct. I just checked and it only says "Tanto" on the Blade.

It looks like the current pictures of the Master Tanto but is not San Mai. I'm not a knife guy. Thanks for the info, I'll make the correction (if I can figure out how).
