Howdy all,
I recently came into possession of a Randall Gilbreath knife and have some issues I would like some guidance on.
The knife is a pretty regular clip point, lock back folder with what I believe is a rosewood handle. I'm not sure what the blade is made from but all the metal work appears to be of the same material and is silver in color.
The previous owner had not taken much care with it but not so little that it needs much repair.
The handle looks a bit dry but is free from cracks or any other damage.
the blade has a few tiny rust spots near the fold and some yellowish tarnishing on the bolster.
I haven't found any Gilbreath knifes similar to this so if anybody is familiar with such a configuration, I'd appreciate some info.
First, what's the best way to determine the value? I doubt it is very high as it is not a particularly intricate piece.
Second, what's the best least invasive way to remove the rust and resuscitate the handle.
