Hello, I recently acquired a Chris reeve knife. I purchased this from a local near me. After closer inspection I have some big doubts about it being a true Chris reeve product

Can the owners of his knives please look over the pictures and let me know your opinion.

The feel just seems off along with some of the lines. Although I have zero experience with CR knives and am use to carrying a heavy ZT.

I'm hoping it's real as I'm liking the slimness of the design

Thanks!

I am not an expert on all things CRK, but it looks like no CRK I have ever seen. I must admit that I can not see your photos larger than the thumbnails, but the clip looks very odd, and I have never seen a CRK anodized on the edges.

OK, now the images loaded.

There are numerious aspects of that knife that would cause ample concern for me. I would assume it is not a CRK. It is not consistent with any model I have seen...and while I don't consider myself an expert, I have seen enough to realize that is a huge departure from anything I have seen.

yep..not real

It's a poorly designed knockoff of a long since gone design from many years ago.

Fake. The thumb stud is wrong, the blade profile when looking down is wrong, the pivot is wrong, and the writing on both sides of the blade is wrong.

100% Fake.

I did chuckle at what looks like CRKT Auto LAWKS on the lock side. China guys are just picking and choosing any patented features and putting them on a clone knife.

Sorry to the OP. Hopefully you can get your money back.

I have seen those for sale on a certain auction site and they are definately fake.

The real CRK Sebenzas never had the CRK name or logo on the blade. There are many other less obvious clues.

Hopefully you do not have too much invested in it.

Thank you all for the quick responses.

It raised red flags with me for sure

At $25 it was worth the chance and lesson learned I guess.

Going to stamp copy on it and chunk it in the tackle box.
Thanks again everyone for the quick help!

Pocket clip is wayyy off too. Authentic Sebenzas have only one screw in pocket clip and the slab has a perfect cut out that keeps the clip flush with the slab (minus the screw of course)

first thing that I noticed that said fake, was the CR logo. I'm obviously way late but wanted to add my $.02

On the bright side, you can use it as a beater or whatever you feel. I'm sure for the cost it will still be a useful knife:thumbup:

edit; looking back at all the pics rather than just the first; I see a lot of differences now which have already been posted

As others have said there are many things that scream fake, but the 1st should have been $25-not going to happen with a real CRK, unless maybe the guys ex is selling it:)

Yea, that one has been one of longest running of all the fakes, they have been about for a long while and it's even pictured on the CRK site on the fake/counterfiet ID page. I think the $25 price tag should have really been the first and strongest indication you were not getting a +$400 CR knife. :p

Yep, this one is a fake and not even a good one at that. Kinda like it to having a Buck 110 and the cheap pakistan model. Hope you did not pay alot for it...!!!

Ouch! Sorry for your luck on that one. At least it was only $25.

I'm going to go wash my eyes out now.
