Help with Sanitized Mini Kit

I'm building what I call a "sanitized" mini kit for trips into airports and other secure facilities (ie. jails & prisons).
This kit must have basic essentials WITHOUT a knife, matches, lighter or other obvious firemaking supplies.

What are your suggestions for contents?

Thanks,

Mike

Hi Mike: Wow. So far this is a tough one for me. First question that popped into my head was...what am I trying to survive.

I offer the following as a start:
Band Aids
Prepaid calling card, no expiration date
Enough coin to place two phone calls
Small flashlight
small whistle
18 inches of 8lb. test fishing line (keeping in mind that anything I include as self defense could also be used against me).

I like this question and look forward to other items for inclusion.

I wonder if a "mystical prognosticator"
would pass inspection.
We used to make them out of Bic pen barrels
fishing line and a 1 ounce lead fishing weight.

I've been trying to come up with much the same thing.

Everywhere my wife and I want to travel is out of the question without air travel. I used to be a boy scout, so I am always prepared. Now I am no longer allowed to be so equipped in airports or airplanes. No Leatherman, no Swiss Army Knife, no nail clippers, and probably no Swiss-Tech MicroPlus. Just thinking about it gives me the shivers.

So I was thinking, what does not look like a knife, is not a knife, does not look dangerous, but COULD be used as a cutting tool and or prybar in an emergency?

I just don't know.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm just going to pack my knife in the checked baggage.

The JOKE of this is that I can think of 20 or 30 ways that would almost definitely work to get knives and/or razors through a checkpoint. I wont try it, because I don't want to go to jail. That count doesn't even include non magnetic blades.

Unless they make you strip down your wallet, or put it through a metal detector (They never have with me) a single edged razor slipped between 2 credit cards is probably the simplest

As someone on the tactical board indicated that the new FAA rules only hurt those who are have no creativity or who are sheep. It doesn't make sense to me that you ban plastic knives but any passenger can purchase a bottle of wine once they past the security check point. Here are some of the things that I have been able to devise and that are dectection proof. Using a portable retangle hand held radio I was able to adept it so I can fit the inner workings of a stung gun inside. You not going to be able to tell, unless you are an electrica engineer and take it apart. Able to convert my wife perfume bottle into a pepper sprayer. Its complicated to describe but it one plastic tube divided in half one that is stores perform and the other side is where the hot pepper spray goes. All you have to do is open up the top turn the tube upside and punture the wax seal and put the sprayer back on and there you have it instant pepper spray. I recently had some extra carbon fiber so I decided to make a cargo liner for my suit case. Think of creating a circular retangle made out of plastic, than you cut the length of these pieces off and later will reattach them to the suit case. essentially it looks like little plastic srips that are used to reinforce the suitcase they are 2.5 feet long stripes that are 2.5.inches wide..and sharp as any knife blade. Both the ends are cut at 45 degree angle. You won't be able to see the stabbin poins because when you put it in your suit case it will be mated to the rounded corners of the circular retangle that you cut those two pieces from. Its kinda of hard to describe on here but just think of cutting the longest pieces of a retangle and using those pieces as knife like swords.

BTW use these devices at your own risk. However may i point out that I was able to carry on all these things without any problems from the local police. Further more prior to going on my trip. i had all these items x-ray by a friend who runs a medical lab. No one could detect that anything was wrong with these items on x-ray.

If I can get spend half an hour and come up with these 3 things I can get on a plane, Just what a bad guy will do? The FAA rules aren't going to stop hijackers from wanting to hijack a plane. Because all it does is harm the innocent. Too many loop holes in the system. Even with sky martial on board. If they wanted to they would still do it they would just wear body armor. Get first class seats put a fat m-80 on the cock pit door and blow it off throw a couple of smoke bombs in there and take over the plane.

I gotta hand it to you. You are far more creative than I am. But what is a "circular rectangle?" I am unable to visualize that.

well since i m an engineer and I work for a design company its not that hard. You probably have many of the stuff that my company designs in your house. Anyways let me see if I can shed some light on this. Take out your roller or whatever type of carry on you happen to have. open it up. What you will likely see here is a retangler shape with curved corners instead of perfect 90 degree corners. Most of these carry on have some sort of liner to give them structure. So your mission is to created a retangler piece of plastic with curver corners so it will fit perfectly inside your suit this of course will look like to the naked eye this will look like it's how the manufacture designed it. Once you put it in the suitcase to make sure you got the perfect fit and all take it out cut both ends of the longest section at 45 degree angle to give it a good point. Sharpen the blade to fit your needs don't forget not to sharpen the parts where you want the handle to be. Now what you have is basically a very strong short sword if you use carbon kevlar I did. My personal test I'm able to cut about 1 inch deep into a side of pork with a downward chop. It doesn't retain its sharpness like a knfe though. Anyways.. now you have yourself a sword. Here how conceal it without anyone being the wiser. You put the curved corners in first use exposy to glue it down. Let that now you put your swords. align everything up so it makes pefect contact to the corners put one drop of exposy at both ends and one line of silicone down the back. The reason being is that you want it to stick but not too the point where you can't yank it out when you need to use it. Thats all to it.
