Does anyone know the date and proper name for this edition? It has carbon blades.

Thank you.

Well, this is disappointing..... :( If you guys don't know what it is, nobody does.......

Wow guys!!!!! That's great!!!! Thank you!!!

My estimation was off by 10 years! "Made exclusively for Western Texas Wholesale"..... Funny, I used to buy Schrades for my gunshop from an outfit named West Tex Wholesale in the early 80's...wonder if it's connected with the orig company that commissioned this knife? My 1st big Schrade floor display was from them.

Looks like mine lacks the "Limited Edition" etch.

Thanks again guys!!!!! :thumbup::thumbup:

Found it.

Looks like 1975 according to Mr. Vickery's site:

Hope I didn't break any rules posting the picture of the flyer if I did sorry Irv and mods delete accordingly.

No rule broken. Larry built and maintains the site for the sharing of archived ISC catalogs, brochures and other information. The pages were watermarked because of the proliferation of counterfeited papers appearing on the market at one point. The site is a free resource for collectors research and it is fine to post images here. But good manners suggest giving credit where credit is due, which you did.

You can say that again.

What's interesting is the two different commoratives to the Longhorn that same year.

Most of the commemoratives I've seen and have are one sided. Oh boy another collecting variable.

For that year I prefer your double sided scrimshaw version better SAK Guy than the Longhorn badged single side model.

Not that I turn it down if it were gifted to me.:D

I also prefer the yellow cream color of the scrimshaws during the 70's versus of the color later models.

Whew, dodged another bullet.:D

Oh and BTW to give credit where credit is due it was your little nugget about SAK's Longhorn in the 8OT link I posted above that caused me to look at Irv's site because for some reason my brain made connection that I'd seen it over there at sometime or another. That and the color of the handle made me think it was mid 70's which also helped narrow down the search.

What bums me out are all the great photos that are being lost from the older posts in this sub forum as time goes on. That and people going back and deleting their posts all together for some reason or another.:(
