Hello all,

I picked up this small Sebenza the other day at a local pawn shop. I was hoping someone could help identify the date of production, blade material, or provide info on the handle graphic. I disassembled it and there are no stampings inside the scales, nor on the blade. There were two copper washers of the same size on the blade pivot. The top scale appears to be polished, either intentionally or from years of use. The thumbstud has 4 cut ridges that only span about 90 degrees of the circumference. The other 270 degrees is smooth. The overall length is 6 15/16". Thanks in advance,

It looks like a well worn decorated from just before the change to th regular design, 1996 or so. The blade will be ATS-34, the design looks unique and very well came from the CRK shop.

James is probably right. The thumb stud is the same as the old pre-regular CRK's (like the P model). Amazing find, I love that graphic and I bet you got it at a killer price too!

Edit:
The lock bar cut out is large and one straight slope. I also noticed the insides of the handles are also not chamfered. Both of these characteristic are very similar to the P model. So its probably a really early unique graphic model.

Very nice find. For the CRK veterans, that pocket clip must have been installed later, right? If this is a orignial sebenza with ATS-34 than it should have the old style clip without the bump.

Is there any date stamp in the handles? The other option is to email them the pictures and let us know what they say.

This is just like the small "P-Less" sebenza I have for sale here. It has all the same features of a "P" Sebenza, only the "P" was no longer engraved and they added the clip. This is not the original clip, as the original was the old straight clip. And of course this being a unique graphic. Its quite possible this unique design was done by Chris Reeve himself, before Lisa began doing it. Blade is ATS-34 with the old style thumb lug. Made aprox. 1995-96..........Nice Score.

Would you mind saying how much you got it for? Was the pawn shop fully aware of what they had? If not no worries, just curious. :)

Thanks for the info everyone. For those who asked, I paid $25 for it. They didn't know what it was and honestly, I wasn't sure myself. I'm not much of a knife collector and I thought it looked like a Sebenza, but I also thought it could be a replica or a fake. When I got home I scoured the internet for info and came to the conclusion that it was real. Does anyone know what a "spa treatment" might cost? It would be nice if they could refinish the scales.

Send it in for a refurb. I’m sure they can give you the skinny on it while it’s there.

Congrats on the nice score!

I have a feeling there will be a few of us exploring pawn shops this week. :D

$25? Well, you got ripped off, that's a fake. Send it to me and I'll get your money back for you =)
Seriously though, sweet Blade, congrats on the SCORE.
