help with sharpening

i just bought a spyderco forester and was wondering whats the best way to sharpen a convex edge?

you can use sandpaper on a soft backing or sharpen it on a belt sander which is what i use. i finish off the edge on a paper buffing wheel to get it really sharp. check out the vids of the edge i put on my knives. http://sites.google.com/site/richardjsknives/Home/more-knife-pics-and-vids

Richard J. is a master - if ya don't have any experience using a belt sander on knives, I prbably wouldn't try that.

Sandpaper on a mousepad and a strop would be my chosen method, if you didn't have a belt sander.

On convex edges on an OTB knife of Spyderco quality, I usually set micro-bevels with a ceramic, or black hard Arkansas. Works for me!

My recommendation is to abandon the convex edges and saber grind the blade.
