I need to get my EZM3 cleaned and a new crystal put on (or a chip polished out of the crystal, if that can be done), but I can't get through to Wings of Time, allegedly the only authorized US dealer. If there's another way to get this done, I'd really appreciate knowing it. Can anyone help? John Hollister, if you still hang out here?

Unfortunately, Wings of Time is no longer a Sinn Dealer. The new Sinn Dealer in the USA is Wartimers. I suspect Wartimers has no repair capability, and they will send your watch back to Germany for any work. That will be your recourse, unless you are willing to have work done by a non-Sinn facility.

Mail service back and forth to Europe is pretty darn good. Give the factory a shout and see what they say.

I would, but I don't speak German and I don't know what it would cost ahead of time. If it's too much I'm going to have to hold off.

Sinn has very reasonable tune up prices...........sent my EZM 1 in recently after it had stopped running and for about $150 [including shipping] it came back in primo shape.

If you wanted to call and speak in person, I would be surprised if they didn't speak fluent English. In fact, I think the school children have better grammer skills then I do. I spent multiple weeks in Munich and Berlin and never once had to use my terrible German to talk with people at large. While I didn't spend a lot of time in Frankfurt, I would expect to the locals to be fluent in English there as well.

Unlike the USA, major portions of Europe are fluent in more then one language. The business community itself has an even higher percentage of multi-language people in it.

FWIW, I have sent email all over the world to companies that have products I was interested in at some point in time. Many of these companies did not have a prescense in the USA marketplace. Sometimes it took a while to get a response and I ended up writing to a son or daughter of an employee, or a young college intern or new hire. In the end, I always got a message written in English that I understood and answered my questions in response to my inquiry.

Sid is right, most Germans' English is reasonably good.

But if you want to avoid possible misunderstandings, feel free to send me an e-mail. I could translate an inquiry for you.

My offer is kind of like a returned favor for your meeting with TTO that proved that he is in fact that pathetic. ;)

Thanks to all. Tim, I may well take you up on that, but with my current lack of job, it may be a month or two before I have the money. And you're welcome. :)
