I bought this Spyderco back in the early 1990's and it's been in my gun safe for the last 15 years. I checked the Spyderco site but it appears it's no longer made. Can someone help with it's ID. Stainless steel with rubber inlays on clip and knife, liner lock and appx. 2 1/2" blade.

Thanks in advance.

I seem to remember it having a more obscure name than Pro-Grip....but then again I'm asking becasue my memory is very cloudy.

Now that rings a bell. Soon as I read your post Provinator came into my head. Could that be it?

The C13 was called 'Pro-Hunter' first, but that name was already taken by another knife manufacturer. Then the name was changed to 'Pro-Venator' but that name didn't work very well. So it was changed again to 'Pro-Grip'
All are the same knife. The steel, and number of serrations in the combo-edge model changed however over time. Yours looks like an early one with the G-2 steel mark.

i posted a similar thread few weeks ago and got this reply.
