HELP with steel i have at work

It looks like it is all no good for blades, and not really much use for hardware. Chromolloy is tough and corrosion resistant, but isn't good for knives.

im bilding a forge and hoping there might be a use for this steel anybody have any ideas as theres a lot sitting there that will go to scrap soon could it be turned in to hammers?

as i know nothing about forge welding could i weld in a piece of w2 or 1075 and make an axe out of the 4130
 
Yes you can forge weld a piece of HC steel for the bit of the ax. Done all the time. 4130 can be a bit stiff under the hammer and the moly makes it a bit red short. It canbe done just have to do it carefully. Not really a beginner project. It would be easier if you use a piece of mild and do the same thing. The 17-4 PH is precipitation hardening stainless. Not good for knives and it is really hard on tooling to mill, cut or grind.
