Help with the H.E.S.T. please!

Hey guys, my first post on the forums here. (I've been stalking the forums for a while now)

I've been looking around everywhere trying to get my hands on a H.E.S.T. for a decent price (will be my first RAT knife), but I've had no luck! I've been to KnivesShipFree, the-knife-connection, all the websites listed on the RAT Cutlery Dealers page.

I finally thought I'd found it at Chestnut Ridge Knife Shop for a total of $96 shipped. They said they had 2 in stock, so I bought one, only to get an e-mail with a bogus reason as to why they can't ship me the knife.

In any case, Daves Knife World says they have it in stock for $105, but I'm a little wary after my experience with CRKS.

Is $105 a little high for the H.E.S.T.? Anybody have problems with ordering from Daves Knife World?

I'd be really grateful for any advice you guys can give me.

BTW, I'm really, really diggin' the H.E.S.T.
From what I've read/seen, it's the closest thing to an ideal knife for my situation. I just wish the one knife dealer in my area would stock up on it so I could hold/feel it. (Yes... there's only one knife dealer in my area. It sucks, I know...)

If I can't get a H.E.S.T., I'll probably end up buying an Izula, so it's not a total loss. :D

I've never personally dealt with Dave's Knife World so I can't reccommend them.

I would contact Derrick at Knivesshipfree, Lisa at twowolvesoutdoor or Dale from theknifeconnection and inquire about when they anticipate having it in stock before I ordered from somewhere else but thats just me.

Best of luck in your quest and welcome to the forum.

I've ordered from Lisa at Two Wolves on four different occasions now and have been well pleased with the results every time.

I've delt with CRKS on several of my knife puchases and always had good luck with him, he even held an OD IZULA so I could pick it up from him at a gunshow last year and save shipping.
Something unusual must have happened.

I got mine on that very popular auction site for a great price and had fast shipping. It turned out to be a dealer, but, that was just luck.

You will love the H.E.S.T. I'd hold out for one of them. My favorite blade grind, plus, when the work is done, you can crack open a cold one right away.

Thanks a lot guys. Appreciate all the help.

I've contacted all the online dealers, knifeworks has it in stock, but my local dealer's getting a new shipment of ESEE knives next week (to include the H.E.S.T.). I'll be going out there to hold/fondle/feel it, and hopefully buy it from them (if they can give me a good deal on it). Gotta support your local dealers =)

Again, thanks for all the help!

I live in west Texas so there's not a lot of dealers close (within hour and half) so I looked online and found it several places cheaper than $110. By the way I got mine from Knivesshipfree.

What exactly is a "bogus" reason? I have ordered all my ESEE knives from CRKS, and with one exception, a back order on an Izula, they have been great.

Thanks for all your help guys. I actually just bought an Izula instead of the HEST. I decided the Izula would fit my needs better.

Thanks again!

I think you made an excellent choice!

I sold my HEST and kept my Izula.

Enjoy it man!
