Help with "W.1.4034 steel"

Hi guys: Can anyone save me from going down the cellar and hanging myself. What is this steel, "W.1.4034". Frank Bel. uses it in his S.Bs. I need to know what it's quench hardness is and what's the temper range and RC. All I keep getting is a hundred different 420's and no TTT's any where. Now remember, no quessing, the cellar!
 
Thanks Mike, I didn't want to let it sit with no stress relieve at all while I was trying to find the temper range which I thought would be quick. I quessed at stress relieving at 250 degrees and hit the temper right on the nose. This steel is junk for what you pay for the knives, so is the quality. Blades are bent, grinds aren't even, waves, liner gaps, twisted back springs, horn chips, none of these knives would ever leave a factory like Case or Kershaw or anybody else I could think of. I knew this knife was a little worse than normal when I bought it, but I wanted to see if you could rebuild it into one that you could be proud of like some of the ones built in the 50's. According to the datasheet I read, you'd hit 51-52RC at 250C and then you'd hit it again around 450C in secondary hardening. Originally I thought it was F and I wouldn't trust a temper at 250F, I think it's just too low to be sure you've gotten all of the stresses out of the blade, so I had suggested going to 450F instead. I edited out my original post and put "nm" as "never mind" because I had misread the chart.

I would at least temper at 300F, which (according to the tempering chart) would keep you very close to the AQ hardness.
 
Yes , 250 F = 121 C

nm is a newton meter like pound foot only in metric.
