Do the letters BUCK appear on the tang? Could be a real oldie, WWII, or a Frank Buck or .....

Black Micarta handle, two liner tang stamp, thick guard: 124 Frontiersman from the early days, pre-1986. Congratulations on the photo. What is the overall length (should be just under 12 inches long), if you have the knife, and if you have the sheath can you post front and back photos?

Your pictured knife looks similar to JB's top knife.

My oldie, on top, pre-1986 so no date symbol.

Newby on bottom, 2012 date symbol.

Both have black Micarta handles. Sorry for the poor light, dark here, makes the newby look kind of greenish.

Diesel, your knife is a rare one. These knives with the two line stamp and the
micarta scales on a visible tang were only made in 1970. Congratulations for
your find.

Not a 2 liner, but here's one I like.

I would suggest any and all folks who are BCCI members go and read the 124/122 information in the DEC/06 news letter by Joe Houser. This will help to clarify the two line 124/122 slab side issue dates.
