I can get a new XTi for $69.99, or a new TTi for $119.99, either with nylon sheaths. I think I might need scissors occasionally, but not sure scissors and upgrage to S30V is worth $50. Thoughts?

Thanks,
Jeff.

Got to the Cabela's near my house and couldn't pass up the XTI, which is clearance priced at $69 with nylon! TTI was $119 with nylon. So, I decided the $50 saved is worth going without scissors and tolerating the 154CM.

Later,
Jeff.

Closeout pricing on both the Ti and XTi makes them almost-impossible-to-resist deals. You did well.

I think I'd save the $50 myself and get the 154CM. If you're on bladeforums, I'd guess you probably have a real knife in your pocket anyway. Heck, for the prices the Wave and Surge isn't too bad. I personally wish they all had the seatbelt cutter blade.

Yep. Gotta agree. The "cutting hook" is one feature I wanted. I love the pocket clip that comes with the tool, which also fits my newer Wave. I like the option of throwing it in my right rear pocket when I'm wearing jeans. Too heavy though I found when trying it in looser pant, like dockers, etc. And by the way-you're right. Also generally carrying a Spyderco Mini Manix, D'Allara, Benchmade D2 Grip, Spydie Blue almite walker or navigator (last two permitted in my Federal building).

Jeff.

i like the Ti over the XTi but i really like the mix of the tools on the TTi

there was a place that had it for $100 a while ago

but still, i haven't felt the need to replace the Ti i have

Oh, yeah, I know how that goes...and I've got the tools to prove it. I am not seeing any reason to buy one of the lastest generation at this time...
