Help !!
Hi, the local store has only these few knives i like.

1. CRKT Wasp. Very nice, light, very smooth, doesnt seem as strong as the other. The tip was very flimsy. I could bend the tip by pressing it on mate.

2. Benchmade 834. Very light also, smooth, very stong. not as sharp as Cold Steel.

3. Cold Steel Voyager. Strong, Sharp.

4. Spyderco. Not sure on model. It looked weird, but was sharp and smooth.

5. Kershaw Ken Onion. Has a kewl automatic flip blade. Really nice design. It looked very sturdy. Not sure i like the locking system.

Which one do u guys recommend. It is for Daily Carry. What has the best durability and better steel? Which one holds edge the best? Any personal experience with these blades.

What does this "wierd" Spyderco look like?

The Kershaw sounds like your best bet given the info, but the Spydie would probably end up in my pocket

The Spyderco was all stainless with straight edge. I am only looking at a straight edge knive. It was around 3.5".

I'm curious as well. My choice would be the Spydie, even though you may not be familiar with what model it is. After buying 17 Spydies so far, in my collection, I am confident enough to say that you wouldn't be disappointed with it. ;)

Just my .02

The SS Delica maybe? The spyderco sounds like the best, especially if you don't like the lock on the Kershaw.

Go to knifecenter.com and see if you can find the model numbers for the Spyderco and Kershaw. Only way to know what the blade steel is and what the locks are.

and the Spydie takes it!! haha, I sound's to me like a SS Delica as well, but maybe you lucked out and it's an Endura :D
Either way, you really can't go wrong w/ a Spydie... Splendid quality and top notch customer service.

PS. KRB, I love that Sig. line ;)

Hi, i think it is the SS Delica. I am also going to buy a shapening kit for it. I dont want to screw this blade like i did the other. What is better Gatco or Lansky. I want to sharpen ATS 34 and harder steel.

The Spyderco Sharpmaker is a good, simple system, Gatco and Lansky can be a pain unless you are really looking to re-profile a blade.

I vote for the Spydie as well. I have a Delica and Endura both SS/PE. They are well made and ergonomically superior IMHO not to mention that they are hard to beat for the price.

I think it was printed somwhere that Lansky sharpening kits have been the industry standard for years with good reason... or somthing to that effect. Anyways, Lansky is what I would recomend, get the kit with 5 different grits (black, red, greed, blue, yellow). I've had a great time with this system, and if you use a strop you can get a wicked sharp edge. Around here the Sharpmaker 204 has a very faithful following, It's a ceramic rod system, and I've never used it...
You might want to look at the EdgePro, if your really serious about sharp. It's foolproof and will turn your kife into a laser scalple. Personally I like the guide systems better, just for the fact that they are more involved... more stuff to work with :D
You should also look at getting some kind of lubricant for the pivot.. Sentry Solutions , and Militec look good, I can vouch for Tuf-Glide. I guess these are choice friction reducers for the Glock Armorer's course, so you really can't go wrong.

Have fun and watch out, one of my favorite quotes from BF.C "A truely sharp knife must be handled with the same respect as a loaded gun" ;)

I would also reccomend the Spyderco, if you're sure its the SS Delica, a great spyderco product. I would double check which kershaw Ken Onion you are talking about, as the Leek is also a great knife. Somehow, I usually get torn between a Spyderco or Kershaw Ken Onion, always. The speed/safe is a great mechanism, and I completely trust my Leek, but research on your own and try out the speed/safe sometime.

Musky Hunter: I'd forget the Ascent, because IMO the steel from a Spyderco FRN folder would be better than the one on the Ascent.

Got my Sharpmaker 204 today. Never been good at sharpening before. Read the book, watched the video, sharpened my knives. Piece of cake!
