I have the choice of one of two things. I can buy a zt0801, or get a brous ss ranger and a native black serr for the same price... I'm leaning towards the second option but idk

Get the 0801, Jason Brous doesn't have a very good reputation CS wise...that being said the native is great. :thumbup:

I'm not into ZTs or AOs but I handled the 801 a few weeks ago and was very impressed. The ergonomics were great and the opening was buttery smooth.

I've never handled a Brous so I can't speak to it.

What is questionable about his reputation?

I haven't had any personal experiences with Jason, but I've noticed quite a few negative threads about him. Posting some below;

Your milage may very, some people have had excellent experiences with him. Preferably though, I would order through a reputable dealer, such as Blade HQ. It'll give you the security of their excellent customer service. :)

I would go with the ZT, but that is because I am not a big fan of serrated blades any more, but they can be very useful and work, but I prefer plain edges. The native is a good knife either way and the ranger is too, but the ZT is a very nice Ti-framelock that is a flipper too. I am a flipper fan.
