Help!!!

The first knife looks great... if you're on acid.
If you're planning to use the knife, I'd personally go with the Contego.

Looks like you want heavy-duty...
I reco the Spyderco Gayle Bradley...it's in your price range, with CPM-M4. An absolutely great steel...3 1/2" blade.

I just want a nice edc, and while i have been considering a gb spydie, i also want to try something new, and the fist knife i saw as a new item on knife center, and it looked interesting.

Contego all the way. No gimmicks, no frills, just a solid knife made in the USA with great materials

My vote would also be for the contengo! I just said this in another thread, but no matter. The reverse tanto blade and M4 steel are match made in heaven. IMHO

I love the Klecker locking system and own a few knives with that lock. Firm, secure lock but difficult to use one handed. Also the price of the Klecker reflects the quality of steel in the blade. While I have no problems with 12C27, the steel in the Contego is (IIRC) CPM-M4 which is quite a bit better than 12C27. Then consider the differences in scale material - SS w/G10 inserts vs G10.

IMHO, it comes down to how much you want to spend. Personally, I would spend a little extra and get the Contego but there is nothing wrong with spending less and getting a lesser quality knife that is priced fairly for what you get. Both are good buys for their price.

If you decide on a Contego, check out the Knifeworks exclusive version w/M390 steel and a black/blue G10 handle:

Go with the Benchmade 810 contego. Very stout folder, try and find it with M4 steel.
