Qsp Penguin. Why is the standoff screw rotating on the opposite side of the screw Im trying to loosen? Are they not 2 separate screws?I already stripped my one t6 bit and probably one of the 2 screws I'm attempting to remove.Has the micarta swollen or something? All videos show people simply removing them with no 2nd torx to brace on opposite side.Tried latex and rubber on top of bit,no go.Appart from trying to dremel a flat head notch into the top of the stripped screw any other options? Thanks!

Don't trust the videos - use a second torx to stabilize the other side, if it's spinning

Ok.Everyone preaches "Wiha" torx bits...is this what I should invest in?Thanks

Wiha is excellent. Wera gets good marks. Even my old Craftsman drivers are good.

I've got a nice set from Lee Valley as well which also included other bits.

Does anyone use blue loctite when reassembling their folder? Is this stuff necessary? Does anyone ever loose screws that aren't loctited? Do I need to apply soldering iron heat to break the loctite later or is that only needed for the red? Thanks

I heat them up with my Hot-Air Rework Station. Blue needs about 250C, and red 300C.

If you use purple loctite, you won't need any heat to remove or adjust the screw, and they won't come loose untill you want them to. Purple loctite is what's recommended for knife size screws.

You're welcome.
Other than knife crews, I use purple loctite on things such as scope mounts, eye glasses, and instrumentation.
I use blue on larger bolts in areas with very high vibration.
