I am currently in the market for my first kershaw and it is to be my edc for a while I'm hoping. Right now I currently own a random leek from kershaw with an s30v blade but have decided after a few days that it is a little small for my tastes. I'm thinking about getting the limited edition blur with a zdp 189 cutting edge or possibly the zt 0350. I'm up for any input as to what would be the better choice, or a knife around that size with a nice steel for the blade. Also, are g10 handles too grippy for daily use in and out of the pocket? I need input from those smarter than me. Thanks.

One good is Kershaw Junkyard Dog II Composite Blade. Now that's a handful of knife with very grippy handles, solid liner lock and excellent blade with mainblade made out of Sandvic 13C26 / 14C28 and cutting edge is from CPM-D2. Mine came razor sharp out of box.

My current EDC is a S30V Blur. I Highly recommend the Blur. G-10 is fine for everyday use.

Well that solidifies my two choices, but I still can't decide if I should go with the brown ltd edition blur because it is new with no reviews. Is zdp189 that great as I have been reading? Or would the zero tolerance 0350 be better for an edc with its g10 handle and s30v blade?

Going from a Leek to a ZT0350 is gonna be quite a change. I have a 350. It's one of my fav blades and it is easy to carry, but it's still a big knife compared to the Leek.

I prefer S30V to ZDP189 for an EDC folder. It's easier for me to work with and it may be marginally more corrosion resistant from what I've heard here, although my ZDP189 blades have never shown any sign of corrosion.

The S30V Blur might be a good choice to step up from the Leek without going all the way to the ZT. If you want to try it, though, I highly recommend the ZT. I don't like AOs at all, but I find myself totin' that ZT much more than I thought I would. It just works for me in the kinds of cutting I do, it has a very robust blade and tip, and it's got some good weight to it. Feels like a knife when I hold it. Some of the real lightweights like my Paras work well and are really tough, they just are a bit too light to feel really solid in my hand.

I grew up carryin' 110s and 112s and I just like to feel a knife when I hold it and use it.

Another Kershaw that doesn't get a lot of publicity is the Lahar. It has a 3.5" VG-10 blade, G-10 handles with some thick stainless steel liners. ~$65 plus shipping.

Welcome to the forum! I'm not saying I'm smarter than you, but given the two choices you offered, go with the ZDP Blur blem from kershawguy. I have both the 0350 and the Blur. They're different animals to me. If you want a tactical type knife, get the 0350. If you want a more subdued knife, get the Blur. The Blur is slightly smaller than the 0350, but still quite a bit larger than your Leek. The 0350 is S30V, and the Blur has a ZDP cutting edge. Benefits and drawbacks: S30V is easier to sharpen, but ZDP hold an edge a whole lot longer. ZDP is harder to sharpen too.

For EDC, while the 0350 is a great knife, I feel the Blur is a better all around knife for, well, every day carry. And you can't go wrong with the price and service you'll get from kershawguy.

The other suggestions mentioned are good choices also. Especially the 110V Shallot.

Good luck with your new Kershaw!
