My Salt 1 has developed some very noticable blade play in every direction. It really bothers me, and I have done nothing to it that even comes near breaking the warranty. I'm thinking I'll just mail it with $5 and a letter. Is this what I should do?

In pinned construction folders, you can tap the pivot with a flat punch so it tightens up a bit. But be careful with this because if you tighten it up too much you there's no way to get it back to where it was before. It probably would be better to do it in small steps. Punch it lightly then try it. If it's has play and the blades moves normally you can probably tighten it some more. I think that Spyderco will also repair it if you send it to them if this is an option.
