Helpful Hint

If you're looking for a place to store you're knives, a tool chest like this (about $200 at Sam's) could be just the thing:

I'd rather it had to shallow drawers on the bottom rather than one, but it still works well.

That's not the helpful hint.

The helpful hint is this: If you choose to store your knives in a chest like this, use that big drawer at the bottom to store sheaths. But if you do store the sheaths in the same drawer as the knives they go with, and if one of those sheaths is a Spec Ops, or something else with loops and cords and other protruding or dangly stuff, and of some of those protruding or dangly things get caught on something so the drawer won't open all the way, whatever you do, don't just reach in there blindly to try to pull out whatever's keeping the drawer from opening all the way. It's a drawer full of knives, for God's sake! And those knives are sharp! So sharp that you might not even know why your fingers are suddenly feeling warm and sticky.

But I'm sure you all knew that already. Or could have figured it out if you'd taken half a second to think.

I was looking for my TGLB (Daryl Dixon Edition) for a comparison pic with the TG-M that arrived today. The offending sheath, by the way, was a short Spec Ops. As seen here:

The TGM looked like it was going to be a little long for the short Spec Ops, but it fit perfectly.

Yes, have to agree, nice pair of blades.

Is it my imagination, or is the blade on the TGM a little broader than the TGLB? Maybe just an illusion brought on by the narrower fuller.

Finally got my TGM in, and it is a sweet blade. Can't help, but wish it was just a wee bit longer: maybe a quarter- to half-inch longer. As it is, it is just a tad shorter than my Rodent 6, which I had hoped would be identically sized. With the G10, though, it is well balanced, better than the Rodent in the hand. How I would imagine a fighter to be balanced, if I knew about such things. Definitely not small. Just a fraction of an inch short of my perfect size.

Definitely a keeper.

Might have to look for one of those cabinets. Except then all my blades would be in one place, and easy for the wife to count.

Oooooo… dunno about that. Wife runs across her first locked cabinet in our 19 year marriage and I'm screwed like a cheap wh***. Love the cabinet, but the liability …

I have one of those wooden tool boxes from harbor freight, good for storing small knives.
