Helsinki Knifeshow 2011 took place at Hotell Marskin in the heart of Helsinki the 8th of Januari. I was, as you maybe know, there and so were about 60 more exhibitors; mostly from the Scandinavian countries but US, France, GB, Estonia, Germany were also there.
The show tocked place during the Russian Orthodox New Year holiday and when I walked the streets of Helsinki I heard more Russian the Finish. That is also the reason the show is held at this place during this time of the year.
There were about 500 paying visitor during the day, and there were very few hours where you had time to relax. Often were the lanes between the tables so crowded it was hard getting a glass of water.
Business were very good for most people. Almost everybody had a smile on their face when it was time to close the show. Pekka Tuominen (PukkoPekka on the forum) did a extraordinary job getting this show together and all guild-members agreed on that during the short Guild meeting afterwards.
I think that the future Helsinki Knifeshows will the place to be for the Knife enthusiast visiting Europe. This was the second year and the next there will be more money for advertising, hopefully making more people come.
I´m very happy myself with the show and I´m already looking forward to next year. I took some pictures. Unfortunate I did not have much time to leave the table so I did not manage to picture everything. I apologise to those who are not represented in these pictures:
