All jokes aside:

I'm noticing more and more sites on the internet selling hemp products. It seems that the Hemp textile market has had steady growth......

Linens, Bags, Shoes, etc...

Clothing more than anything else.

Does anyone have any exp. with Hemp clothing? How it feels? Durability? Best blace to buy?

Or is it just a fad / scam?

I'm currently looking at a hooded pullover but I'm very unsure.....

Thanks,

Brian

My granddad grew hemp for rope in ww2. Mom always said that if he had known of its other uses he would roll over in his grave.

As for durability, they do not rig sailing ships with or write historical documents on hemp products because it is wimpy or ephemeral.

I know, still not saying a thing about the actual application...

Hemp stuff gets a big thumbs up from me.

I'm wearing hemp jeans, a hemp T-shirt and a hemp dress shirt as part of my rotation lately. They are usually 70% hemp with some cotton blended in. Durability is much greater than cotton. The T-shirt is 5 years old now and still looks almost new. Another property I have noticed is that - although it is heavier in weight than cotton - in the hot weather here they feel cooler. I'm not sure why this is. Maybe they breathe better.

Most of the manufacturers here have gone away from the 'hippie' look as well. Although they do have a heavy texture to the cloth which looks a little rustic.
