Been buying a lot of new production Hen and Rooster knives lately. In general I've got to say they're pretty nice knives for a good price.
This one came Saturday:
As you can see, the shield is missing. I carefully examined the box and wrapping paper, and it's not there. Incredibly the shield seems to have been affixed with a tiny tab of double sided tape!
I know how this kind of thing happens. I deal a couple of times a year with an adhesive salesman, and to say that they have absolute faith in their 'solutions' is the understatement of the year... Even a year like 2020...
Anyway, I found this to be interesting. I know from experience that the round shield Boker and Henckels knives suffer from this same problem. So far I've always been able to find the missing shields and replace them. They, at least, use epoxy.
I bought the knife from a dealer I've bought from many times, and I'm sure he'll make things right.
