sorry... i don't spend time over on this side of the forum... just on the knife makers side... was trying to do some research for a friend... it's his knife... guess i missed that rule... but i would still like to find other information about it, what model it would be called, what year it may have been made... that kind of stuff... thanks...

Made is Spain.

Google
Hen and Rooster Damascus Stag Stiletto

Looks just like this one.

A little bit on Hen & Rooster. The H&R trademark was of the Bertram Cutlery of Solingen that apparently made some fantastic knives. They fell on hard times like seemingly all cutlers in the 70s. AG Russell bought them in the 80s I believe, but couldnt save them and they filed bankruptcy or the equivalent in Germany. The trademark then became separated from the original company, which is now defunct. Somewhat like Schrade and Old Timer, it is now possible for someone familiar with their old products to buy more recent production and be severely disappointed, but it doesnt necessarily mean that they are bad knives.

thanks guys... that's all i was looking for... he picked it up at a garage sale and was dead set he had some treasure... but after a bit of research it looks like he paid just under full price anyways... doesn't matter much though... he likes the look of the thing...

Mark,

I bought Bertram and Sons on the verge of bankruptcy in 1975, kept them alive for 5 years until the summer of 1980 when the government closed them down. Jim Frost bought the name at auction and has made them cheapeer and cheaper ever since, they are the best made of all Frost knives and seem to be worth what is charged for them.

The knife shown byu the OP is maded well after Jim Frost bought the name.
