Hi Guys.

I am very new to folders.
I have found they are a great way to empty a wallet
The two brands I have so far are H&R and GEC

Do any of you have pictures of favorite Hen & Rooster's?

Thanks very much  :D

I'd like to see some pix of some OLD Hens, they are meant to be very nice, but they're seldom seen.

I hear tell that the old Hen & Roosters were very nice- back when AG Russell owned the company, and before then. He claims that they were THE knives back in the day. I don't hear much about the more recent models. .41Dude, how do you like your H&R? Do you have any pictures of it?

You're right, folders are an excellent way to empty a wallet. GECs are a great way to do that. So is Case, Schatt & Morgan etc. Especially if you get into the older stuff.

A few months back, I bought one of the newer models from Hen and Rooster: a Stag Sowbelly Stockman. Sharpens up nicely, blades are reasonably centered, springs are a little weak for my liking, but I like it (well the stag leaves a little to be desired, but I'm just nitpicking).

Nice knives! After learning of the original Bertram knives through AG, I have collected more than a few, mostly back in the early days of eBay. One of these days, need to haul them all out for some group pics.

Please haul them out soon:thumbup:

Here's a norfork whittler that some fortunate chap owns now. these are Bertram hens made in the eighties. I still own the big stockman. Fine knives with the inner tangs polished. The stag on the stock knife is fantastic.

Very nice! I had a H&R Canoe that I believe was from the early 80's. I'll see if I can dig up a pic or 2 of it from my PC at home. I have no experience with the older H&R's.

I gave the one I had to a friend for his B-D. He told me it brought back many nice memories of the H&R's his Grandfather used to have & told me his Dad told him he'd look at the new H&Rs when they came out (I believe this was back in 60's or 70's). My friend told me that the "pride" of his Grandfathers' collection were the H&Rs.

I also wish someone could post some pics of the older H&Rs as I keep hearing about how nice they are, but haven't seen one.

navihawk, damnably fine Norfolk Whittler there sir! Could you post some approx specs including weight? That stag looks burly....

Actually Bruckmann made the last knives in the 1930s, they did other things in WWII and never made knives again. Thousands found in the warehouse in years past.

It was hefty. I cant remember exactly. I believe it was just under 4 inches closed.
