I just ordered one of these for $40. Does anyone have any experience with this model? I figured for $40, I'd take a chance.

Interesting arrangement, must be a three thick knife?(3 springs)

Looks very similar to the Böker standard Stockman, the companies might have a connexion.Böker Large Stockman is a very good knife indeed and not costly. Hope your knife pleases you:thumbup:

I have 6 of these in different colors and only 1 has an issue of the Sheepsfoot blade having very little "Snap" when closing. Generally the F/F is very good with the typical German (light) walk and talk. I could'nt pass them up either for their price range and yes, they are made by Boker. I particularly like the Yellow bone one from this series, it looks fantastic.

Henckels stopped making their own folding knives in 1960. The "Henckels" folders made for about the next 10(?) years closely resemble the original Henckels patterns. The more recent ones are "Henckels" in name only.

Thanks Will, I hope I like it too. Either way I'll take some photos when I get it and post them here.

I really like mine! It does have three springs, but it is no thicker than my Schrade bearhead trapper. What I think is neat is that it seems that the spring for the sheepsfoot and spey blades is thinner and made from a different steel than the springs for the two clip blades.

Edited to add-- I'm pretty sure I've read that they're made in the Böker factory

I read that Boker makes them, too. Also, I read that the Black shield means stainless steel & the Red shield means carbon steel.

I've never seen a stockman with a muskrat blade before. I really like that blade combo.
