If only I could take pictures like Greg or Kerry...The scanner is dying and it's too bright outside for the camera.

Three inches closed, mirror polish blades (excess mineral oil shows up as blackish in a few scans), milled liners. Great shape except for a few opening rub marks. A pain to photograph or scan with all of the things to open and close. Of course, everyone's pearl looks better in person.

Here's one that is similar to this one from a 1937 Henckels catalog reprint :

Thanks fellers. The tools have half-stops, the knife blades don't. Nice little swedges on the blades and an assortment of funky nail nicks for the tools.

What a great find. Congratulations Mike.

Is that a mechanical pencil I see in there?Nice score.

It is. The end screws off for putting the lead in the holder. It also has an ear spoon on the end of the tweezers. :barf:

Sunk joints all the way across with a lot of crinking and eased openings on the pearl.

Thanks again everyone.

Mike,

Just an overall wonderful example of the cutler's art.
Congrats on very cool addition to your collection:thumbup:

Quite astonishing, that is a one complex muti-blade Mike, a wonderful assortment of blades and tools, I particularly like how the corkscrew and gimlet sit on the muck joint on the two outer springs making them easy to use. Fabulous condition too ! .

Ken, the pictures with the blades closed are your "money" shots.

Mick, I've never heard the term "muck joint" before but I like it.

Thanks for the kind words.

Hi Mike, the "muck joint" is the joint where the minor articles hinge on the balance rivet, their cams (for want of a better word) press the slotted back-spring down when the articles are lifted, in time these slots fill with dirt and muck, hence the term...

Wonderful 6-thick Mike! Cutler's art indeed!
Nice to see you getting into the really prime stuff, especially because we get to see it!;)

Dang, I love those......and that one is a beaut!
I understand that they don't do so well in the high country, Mike......you better send it over here.....

Thanks Ed, Barry and Charlie.

Ed, it's my new camping knife, but I'm going to paint the scales blaze orange so I don't lose it in the brush.
