Wow!!! Incredible! I love the total look of this knife. This maker learned a lot of what he does from Bill Moran and it shows.

Man that's a nice piece. Jay is so good. The old boy can take a $6 chunk of maple and make look like a million bucks. Aside from the graceful lines of the blade itself, the smooth and gentle convexity of the bevels, and the fancy silver work on the handle, look at the depth in that wood. Wow.

U-m-m, do you get the idea I like Jay's work? :D

Just a terrific little knife from a really great maker. Really smooth lines - very slick. This one's way better than pretty nice. Thanks for sharing.

Cheers,

Roger

Stunning work. Jay's work has that Moran look, but it's much more refined. The student exceeds his teacher. As it should be... :)

Thanks for the post. Congrats on your good taste!

That's a great looking knife and a very flattering pic.

What a fine looking knife :)

Jay is truly a gentleman...you will be hard pressed to find a nicer man.

He and his wife Nancy were instrumental in the first ABS show last January and it was fantastic!

Thank you for the kind words. I just bought myself a tripod, so I was trying to take better pictures of my knives.

Jay is a true gentleman, and yes, he does makes great knives. I love how he treated the wood (with the wire silver). His polish is also one of the best I've seen so far. No doubt he is one of my favorite blade smith.

Nancy is a great woman. I always spend a lot of time talking to her or Jay at shows. Their table is the one place I would spend most time during show. She is very supportive to her husband, and usually works as the QC of the knives Jay makes. She is the kind of woman that a knifemaker/people would be lucky to have as a friend or a wife.

I wasn't able to go to the first ABS show, now I've been kicking my head regreting that. :(

Hi Beluga

read your thread re Chris Owen and Jay Hendrickson.

Glad you got a tripod. Hope it was Ball/Socket style.

If you want tips on knife photography, there was a thread started by Boink in BR>general>gallery awhile back that had lots of good tips on what to do and how to light and the lights to use with digital phototography which is the best way to go with doing knives.

Take a look at the thread. If you need more info, there are some good thread in CKD also. Also, if you need help, write me and I'll try to assist.

Wow :).., "pretty nice" huh....

Sometimes that sort of work gets a little "busy" looking to me.., but that is just a gorgeous piece.

As Coop said..., congratulations on your good taste...and thanks for sharing...

That's a real beauty. Hendrickson is probably my favorite knifemaker. Not to own, since I own no customs, but to "gawk at."

Gorgeous piece!
I had the pleasure of meeting Jay at the Solvang knife show a few days ago. A true artist and gentleman. He had two beauties left
for sale, but I ran out of $$$.

Thanks for sharing the great pic of yours.:)

Murray White, thank you for the offer. I might have to take up on your offer there in the future. So far I've been learning photography from a book; "How to do everything with your digital camera" by Dave Johnson. Pretty good book, and very useful for me.

I took the liberty to browse your knife collection, and I must say that you got some serious stuff there ! Good taste, great pictures, I love 'em all. I especially love the Pronghorn and Bryan Lyttle's. Man, that stag handled hunter is nice !!

Murray White, my email add is MPan6estu@yahoo.com

Some of the pics look yellow ish because I took them at night in my kitchen. The kitchen light is yellow, I guess that explains it.

I never used any support lighting other than the sun light through the window.

Thanks in advance, sir.
