I am looking fr a .22LR to plink with. I was in a gun shop and was looking a a Henry Lever Action .22LR. It looked to be a very well made rifle for the price. It was new in box and well under under $200.00. This little rifle looked as good as ones that I have paid twice the price for. I also like the fact that it is made in the USA. I've never has a lever action rifle before. They look like they would be fun to play with even take a squirrel or two with. Any comments on Henry rifles would be welcome. Thanks.

I can't help you much, I got my first lever action rifle, a Marlin 1895 GS, just a few months ago.

The actions are very simple and yet very robust for a design over 100 years old. I don't think you'll be able to wear it out in your life time.

I'm thinking of a Williams peep sight for mine, although for large game it wouldn't be needed. I do have a peep sight on my Ruger 10/22.

Congrats on a great rifle.

The Henry l/a 22's are good little guns. Fit and finish is not comparable to the Marlin but they are alot cheaper. If you are just wanting to plink and hunt, I'd say go for it.
