Here's a link to another thread in the Blade Discussion Forum with about 20 pics of the Rendezvous.

Be forewarned, there are about 20 pictures, just wanted to share and this seemed like an appropriate place to attach the link.

:D cool pics...
we have a little rendezvous that takes place next to the state park across the street from my house.....

I live a mile from the Delaware river in NorthEastPennsylvaniA, (NEPA) right in the heart of Revolutionary War Reenactor.

I think when Washington threw a silver dollar across the Delaware it was a creek and not a river yet it musta been smaller though 'cause I tried to toss a dollar across and all it did was get wet.

Seriously though, living in the area so rich in Native American artifacts, Revolutionary War Memorabilia along with the local history makes weekends very interesting around here.

Great place to live, except for the tourists:D , and they come year round, Flowers and Fairs in the Spring, Swimmin' and Tubin' in the Delaware in the Summer, Tree Watchers in the Fall, and X-mas tree killers in the Winter.

I always laugh when I see the whole family come down, stalk a couple of trees, and cut 'em down and kill 'em.

They look so proud with their kill strapped to the roofs of thier Hummers and SUVs.:D

Still they bring a lot of needed money to the area, and they keep families together.

I grew up in a house about 2 miles from fernwood. It was a great area to live in but its becoming severely over run and it just isn't the same anymore. The neighbors (some real "interesting" folks) used to let their sway back old horse loose and it would come and eat the apples from the tree in the front yard. If you needed the police it would take at least 45 minutes for them to show up, if they came at all. Now there is a speed trap at the bottom of the hill. (Thankfully my corvette has big brakes.)

Fireworks and guns in the front yard was a daily after school activity... Of course now I can count ten houses and 4 trailers from our property. The High Schools and housing developments are now home to various gangs and youth crime groups. Progress?

It is indeed a beautiful area and I hope it stays that way.

The Pocono Indian Museum is a nice stop, loaded with lots of local native history. Be careful at the ATM machine next door though, a friend of mine was violently beaten for the $100 he was taking out one night. Apparently by the gang living in the housing development behind the museum.

Edit: sorry about the OT rant. I just get sad every time I go home to visit the homestead and see how fast its changing.

What really Pis**es me Off is the lack of respect people moving in from the cities show the environment.

Ah yes, the environment and our "FFP's"...

On one of my trips back home I watched one of the new neighbors changing his oil in the street (dirt road) without the use of a catch pan. Later that same day I saw him flushing his coolant into the street as well. The first thing the guy did when he moved in was cut every single tree on his property down, in the process taking a 15ft section of our dog kennel down with one of them. After cutting the trees down he made a big brush pile in his back yard and proceeded to light it up where it promptly blazed out of control. A fire truck showed up ten minutes later to put it out.

Even better... One day, while I was off visiting some friends, my gsp sneaked out the door and was wandering around on the guys yard. He brought the dog back over and proceeded to explain to my mother that he was ex NYPD and if the dog went on his property again he would be shot. I spent the next 10 days putting up 800 ft of 6ft high welded wire fence, as my parents have a couple great danes that they didn't want drinking coolant or getting shot at.

Its been a year and a half since he moved in and he has a very nice brick walkway in the yard leading to his paved driveway but not a single blade of grass anywhere on the lot.
