Many of you know my dog Herbieduke from my avatar.
My best friend for 11 years. 5/24/06 was put to sleep after a long illness.
His quality of life had gotten to a point that it was the best thing I could finally do for him. He was 165 lbs of love for one, and all that met him.
 
Man I am so sorry to hear that. I have my buddy Jake, a golden/chow mix. Been with me for 15 years. I am gonna bawl like a baby when the boy finally goes. Of course he still looks pretty good so I am thankful.

So sorry for your loss. Only another animal person can know how much this hurts.
 
Sorry to hear of your loss bro! :( Our thoughts are with you, a good dog is sometimes the most loyal family member of all.
 
I am so sorry. He sounds like a great dog.

Hang in there. There are many supportive dog lovers on Blade Forums.

It takes a while to get over that.

You should post this in Community, though, as this is Bad, but not good, or ugly.

More people who can relate will see it, too.

I'm very sorry for your loss. Nothing can ever take away the good times you had with him. My thoughts are with you and your dog.
 
sorry for your loss my friend--had to put down my dog cassie last year--was a hard thing to do

its always a sad thing when you end a friendship-
i have 2 roscoe and mopar bolth are getting up in age-
 
Sorry for your loss SAK. Hang in there. Although irreplacable, it may do good to look at getting another.

Very true. I also have a dog Buddy. He is all those things, and more.
He is 13, and I hope he has 6 more months. Doesn't get around too well, but my 3 others dogs still give him the respect as the leader of the pack he has always been.

Jay, I'm really sad to hear this - may he find a grassy field in doggie heaven oto run around in to his heart's content, and an endless supply of doggie treats.
 
It's nearly as bad as losing a child. I offer my condolences, we lost one of bundles of fluff 3 weeks ago. Just a cat, but one that had given us a lot of enjoyment and love for 15 years. She even relocated from the UK to Canada 12 months ago.
