I wanted to post this pic because I've never had this many blades on my bench at once. The two on the left are mine and the other three are about ready to go out the door. Two S7's, one O1 and two D2's.

you sure have been workin havent you
nice looking stuff

Those are really nice-looking knives. They look like a couple of strong backs could build a 10,000 sq ft. log trading post with nothing but those knives, and be done in time for supper.

Thanks. When I got into knifemaking my intentions were to make knives mainly for hunters. Here lately the big ones are the most requested.

Scott, if I had any money, I'd probably be looking very hard at some of your knives to fill my needs. Nice.

Thanks again. possum, that S7 is something else. I don't like to post testing results on BF anymore because of the last fiassco with the D2 testing thread but I did take an S7 blade and chopped up some steel banding that was around the crate my milling machine came in and also chopped the nails in half that held the crate together. The edge got rough but no significant damage other then roughness. S7 is tough ass steel.

Brian the guard is similar to one one my favorite fixed blade knives. A Vietnam era Randall model 14. I also like the model 15 which is just a shorter 14. This pic is scanned from one of my favorite hardback books, Knives of the United States Military in Vietnam by M. W. Silvey. Awesome photograghy.
