knives! My knives, you perverts!

I have a problem, a question, you've heard it before, I've answered it myself. It's different now that it's my new knife ... when you spend real money on a great knife, a custom, a classic, by a great knifemaker --- can you really just take it out and USE it ???

When I hear that, I think of my Sebenzas. Of course I use them. That's what they're for. That's what they're best at, cutting stuff!

I got a Darrell Ralph Madd Maxx 5.5" dagger.

Can I use it for a kitchen knife? Don't laugh, it should work as well as my CUDA Maxx bowie, which is a great slicer & dicer. I know I can't take it out on the street and intimidate my neighbors, right?

AAArrgghhh !!!

It is the exact same size as the CUDA Maxx, which is not too bad a carry, but won't fit straight up in some back pockets. For sure, I wouldn't get away with whipping it out in the street to open a package of cookies.

I'm thinking more about scratching up the blade or scuffing the handle. It's not that I'm worried about some theoretical resale value -- I intend to keep this!

Don't scratch it up on purpose. Keep it pristine for now while you think about it. You've bought a knife you don't really have a use for. Don't try to think up a use for it, scratch it up, and then find out the knife is not so good for that use. A dagger blade ain't meant for kitchen or utility use. Put this one on display, and think about it. If you can't stand to have it and not use it, what knife would beter fit your purpose? Keep it pristine and trade for that knife.
