Nice work! Word of caution though, frying fish in the canola after quench makes the fish taste funny, kind of a burnt taste!:D

Very cool! I see some Phill Hartsfield influence in that one. :D

Thanks guys.

Dan, Phill's work has been on my mind for over 25 years. When I first saw it I talked to him for hours at knife shows and visit at the shop now and again, because these japanese wrapped blades with ugly finish were mesmorizing. I have had many prettier knives from some well know makers over the years. But Hartsfield really is an enigma in the knife world. He was one of the few knifemakers who really wanted you to use his knives and beat stuff into oblivion. Funny thing is his work is so expensive few will ever make it into the field for use anymore. Luckily the shop is making knives for military units and that is really a great service to provide.

Phill's work really speaks to me, the beauty and form he captured mesmerizes me. His knives were functional art.

Nice little blade! The cord wrap and tsuka maki are a nice touch. Very clean.
