I know it is an old story .... but whenever I see one of Alan's new knives I get that kid in a candy store feeling! This one arrived today. Couldn't resist picking it up, as it is a small, slender gent's folder with a really nice looking Rob Calcinore Damascus blade (3 inches and in his Turkish Checkerboard pattern) and outstanding Box Elder burl scales. One of the reasons I like Box Elder is that it comes in many different "shades" and grains.

For size comparison, here she is with two of my Box Elder Mnandis. As you can see, it is just a little larger than the Mnandi.

Yes, I know! That was the first thing I noticed when Alan posted the knife. I pm'd him to see if he remembers where he got the wood. If I can find another slab like this, I might just pick it up for future use!!
