Here is a real jewel, why do people do this?

Maybe I should bid 2 cents to win that beauty. Remember it will be a collectable to any benchmade collector. Or a wonderful example of..... what not to do!

certainly better than i can make. but i wouldnt post anything there or anywhere for sale if i did make something.

mainly from fear it would end up in a place like this being ridiculed. :)

That isn't that bad if it really is forged and handmade. The pivot pin at the back is ugly, and the rust on the backspring needs to be cleaned up, but overall it isn't the worst knife I've ever seen. Folders are hard to make by hand, and it certainly doesn't look like this was spit out on a cnc mill. Still, I wouldn't take it over a production AFCK, despite the good choice of blade steel.

Why would anyone even bid on this?

As of this posting, the current bid is only 1 cent (plus postage) but I must admit it's not even worth that. This is the type of thing I would throw away, not buy or sell....lol. Too funny.

I don't think that knife is worth the postage. I would not want someone to give me that knife. I would have to throw it out.

This is something of a deal breaker:

It is TIGHT to open and does not lock.

Edit: I looked closer and it does look like it's actually a slipjoint, so it's not defective.
