As soon as my knife arrives I will let you guys know what I think of it. I to prefer the traditional tip. From the pictures that Ivan has been sending me I think that I am going to be very pleased.

By the way I also would like to highly recommend that anyone looking for a knife of one of the types that Ivan makes, to contact him. He has been great to work with, and keeps you informed on how your knife is doing better than any other maker I have dealt with.

More after I get my knife.

I just received my new knife from Ivan and boy am I impressed. This is one well made knife. The grind lines are superb, the blade is 1/4" thick 5 1/2" long and 1 1/4" wide and looks like it would pierce the body of a tank.

Thanks Ivan for this beautiful knife. I love it. After I have had it for awhile I will give a more comprehensive report.

I am glad you liked the knife so much, Keith, specially considering all the great stuff you already have.
Thanks a lot for your kind comments. Being a collector myself, all I do is try to treat my customers in the same way i would like to be treated.

Mr. Rosvall...

That's not really traditional at all but it IS a good step above the older chisel tipped stuff.

Shinryû.

Keith,
Great knife - I know you will like it! Ivan's knives are real users - I have 3 & all are exceptional & functional using tools that will stand up to anything I could ever imagine anyone putting a knife through. They are not the fanciest around but very elegant in the simplicity of design & excellent finish. Not for the faint-of-heart or weak - the larger two of mine are heavy, but balanced very well and can they go through maple tree limbs!!! My knives came very sharp & with a little work they are positively scary sharp(E-MAIL me Keith - I would like to pass on some sharpening tips I was given for that type of chisel edge if you are interested) and the edges have held up great under heavy chopping. Ivan's work just seems to be getting better & better - that knife should serve you well for many a year.

Have a nice day!
P.S. Ivan - looking forward to meeting up with you at Blade - have something for you - I'll be situated at Darrel Ralph's table.

Thanks, Bill. I think you described my knives' spirit very well.
I am making a lighter line now, for those more concerned with concealment and lightweight, wich will be show at the Blade Show, and am also trying my hand at some other styles, like a khukuri (not chisel, double flat ground this time) I was working on today - c'mon! everybody knows about the interest I have on khuks! I had to try! - though these are personal projects only, at least for now.
