I decided to try one more knife before I started on my orders just to make sure my eye was on target and all my little demons had left the shop. Please let me know what you think of this ..
Bruce

Blade steel is forged round rod 5160 (it was not fullerd in but instead the pieces were soldered on and ground out as this blade has been setting around the shop for about 3 years and I finally found out how to do it to make it look correct)
Blade length is 7 1/2 inches long
Nickel silver guard
Stainless pins
steel handle frame and bolster.
Ebony scales
Nickel silver escussion plate
handle is 4 1/2 inches long

Blade close up.Sorry about the pictures I am still trying to figure out what I am doing wrong with them to make the Blades wash out like the first one.

The point doesn't show well in the first picture it was stuck in the material.
Thanks coonskinner.

That picture needs a couple of poker chips, a pocket watch & a couple of beat up cards...pair of queens maybe... :)
Excellent blade!
If these are only the 'warm-ups'...
:)

Wow, Bruce, that rocks. Looks like it'd feel quite lively in your hand. Thanks for sharing, you're an inspiration to me!

Where do you get the stencils for your mark?

Thanks for all the kind words here everybody.
I guess I should have said that this was a Traditional fighting Bowie shape. This is a small version of a Bell Bowie...

Excellent knife Bruce! What are the pieces you soldered on the blade, nickel silver? Very nice rendition of a classic pattern!

Silent,The pieces that I soldered onto the guard are also 5160 that way they will age the same...
This is how most stock removal makers do this style piece.Otherwise you have to grind it from a thick bar and that is a pain.I am going to try fullering one like the original was done,But that is really tough from what I have heard.
