here is one for a good laugh.LOL

Yeah, I saw that one. They actually come up regularly. I know because I had been watching for that specific model knife which I have since acquired. I don't think we're supposed to give links to active auctions according to forum rules. Here's a link to another auction (now closed) that actually sold for an eye opening price.

A Master Series 119 sold for $560. I guess I'll never own that set, that price exceed my "hobby" value.....;o(

Yea I saw that too. I put it in the same file as the custom 110 sheath for 89.00, even though the guy us selling one for like 228.00

RAZORBLADES....I didn't see your post about that knife until this morning and the knife is STILL available!! :p

I looked at the other items the guy DeSotoSky referred to and he has a Hoodlum for sale. He mentions they are no longer available on Buck's website. I noticed a couple weeks ago that they disappeared from the website. Anyone know if they are now a discontinued item??

Not that I'm aware of. The Hoodlum has been listed on the Buck site ever since it came out but was always "unavailable" as they were filling standing orders from retailers/distributors. IIRC around Labor Day it was finally "available" on the website but was pulled after only a day or so. At the time I speculated that they might have gotten so many orders off the website and it being a holiday weekend they pulled it from the site to avoid overselling inventory on hand. I've not seen anything posted to contradict my theory.

Based on what we've seen posted from time to time here in this forum by Joe Houser from Buck the demand for the Hoodlum has been fairly high/steady since it was introduced. To discontinue it wouldn't make much sense at this time, at least not any I can see. Just my $.02

The Hoodlum is still on the website but not in the normal listing. It's posted on the front page in a rotating ad with two other knives. I think Joe Houser has posted elsewhere that the knife is in backorder status as sales have exceeded expectation so I agree with Badhammer, don't think a knife doing well in sales will be discontinued.

I can't see why that thing hasn't sold. Unspecified steel, terrible shape, ugly handle, dollar store sheath, all for a steal at $300!

I have to agree, the sheath is crap. First time I bought one I almost threw the sheath away thinking it wasn't a Buck sheath. Getting beyond making fun of the price, I kinda like the Kraton handled knives. I find them attractive, 425M steel, and comfy in the hand.

The one in the middle isn't *half* bad looking, but the 119 (which I assume it is modeled off of) looks about a million times better.

The blades are the same as the 100 series knives. The one in the middle is a model 619....a 119 with a rubber handle.
Can't argue the classical good looks of the 100 series knives. I love em too.

Yes, DeSoto, The Mates are great knives. I like 'em too!!
But I paid less for all than the knife on top does.

Actually that blade shape is one of the best around for skinning, and the knife in its current state is named the skinner. Function over fashion in this case. It is ugly though, and IMHO, a bit cheap looking from the pic.
