The blade has many neat aspects. I'd like to see more pics. Close ups, other side etc.

I don't really understand the handle, or how it is attached. I was scrolling down the picture thinking, cool... neat..., then what? I wouldn't worry about my opinion if you like it though.

I agree with Richard about the handle. I imagine it is meant to be in the "anime' style of big oversize weapons/armour.

Same...Questions on the handle/guard area. The blade itself is very different, looking somewhat like a huge dive knife, What is the length, specs?

Perhaps if you told us what the plan was for the knife, what was to be done with the handle, etc, we could get a better mental picture

hi, the handle is of my own design its in the very early stages . a mound of engraving with ebony inlay is whats in store for the handle. the handle is solid hickory, blade is 440 , blade is set into the handle and will be final attached with 2 sex bolts

I've never been a fan of the fantasy weapon genre, but It seems you plan to put a lot of effort into this project, so I'd like to see you be happy with it.
I can tell you with 100% certainty that if you mount that blade in front (on the blade-side) of the cross, it will fail almost immediately. Really any impact will break the wood. The stresses at the wooden ricasso (in this case, at the center of the weapon) will be tremendous. The tang MUST run through the handle and be quite rigid. You cannot rely on the wood as a structural member at all.
This poses an interesing engineering problem for you if you're married to your hilt design, but that's all part of the fun, I suppose.
Good luck!

Cool, lots of interesting aspects on that one. I was glad to hear you've still got a lot of work to do to the handle though, it looks a bit blockly right now.
