I have a sentry 1175 fire resistant safe that has had the cheap plastic pin hinges removed . The owner said I can have it if I can figure out how to put nrw hinges in or on . While not technically a gunsafe it would make great storage for handguns and ammo . I contacted the company as suggested and was told no replacement parts were available . I could always tapcon on some hinges but it wouldn,t look good or really add any protection . Does anybody know how I could use the original set-up of holes which are in the safe wall insread of exposed ?

Go to the best hardware store you know and look around. Call a locksmith and ask him about it.
I can't quite see it from your description, but I'm lame anyway. There are hardened bolts with smooth heads and no cutout for tools. Attached from the inside. May not be as cosmetically nice as you'd hoped.

Munk this is a thick walled safe with some kind of cement like fire retardant in the walls . The hinges are dinky little plastic plugs that look like something you would plug the end of a copper pipe so it wouldn,t tarnish in storage . The big thing is I don,t know how they would install these pins in the first place . The only thing I could see is their being spring loaded and snapped into place when the top is fit on the bottom . A locksmith is an option . Itmll be my last one as the price these guys charge would eliminate any savings I would have over getting a new one .

If I luck onto the right locksmith he might just be willing to help . I never thought of the angle that they would have to have a very innovative curious nature .
Thanks .

Problem: Security door with broken lock.
Discontinued, but great quality door.

Locksmith #1: I can get you a new lock for $70
Locksmith #2: I have the same door on my house. I came up with a way to fabricate a replacement mechanism, but I found a source for them an bought a couple just in case mine broke. Let me go out to my car. $10.

Oddly, I would have pegged Locksmith #2 as the expensive one because they're in a more upscale area. But I did spend a bit more getting a cylinders rekeyed.
