This is the Sanu bonus khukuri that was returned to go up for auction and proceeds to go directly to Sanu.

This is an 18 inch. 1.5 pound Sirupati which is unmarked but it has telltale signs that it was made by Bura. The fit is perfect and the finish is magic stone mirror but the knife has been refurbished by Terry Sisco after a year of hard field use so I don't know if this is the original finish or something Terry has done. The hardness is about 59 Rc in the chopping area tapering softer toward tip and bolster. And, the blade has a very slight fuller to it which is something Bura likes to do.

The karda and chakma have that Bura flair to them and are very well done.

The scabbard is probably by the sarki with no name before he started tooling them. Very well done. And, the frog is an early version of the 100 year HI superfrog.

I can't remember exactly that khukuri that "blew the customer away due to the improvement in quality" but it must have been a hell of a khukuri because I can't find anything wrong with the one he sent back for the bonus auction.

But, anyway, here it is. I think the high bid is $65 or so and, of course, it was put in by Harry.

All proceeds will go to Sanu. We will keep this up for maybe a week and then close it and send the knife to the highest bidder.

Let the bidding continue.

Uncle Bill,

I think that Steven F. has the high bid if I read the thread correctly, much as I esteem our mutual friend Harry.

Uncle,
Just thought I'd Let you know the frog is a early Sisco frog. It didn't have one when I got it. So I put on a extra one I had laying around.
I did polish the blade up a little but not much.
Take it easy.

Uncle,
Thank you for the kind words. What did you think of the other khukuri I sent you?
Terry

Uncle,
I'm glad you liked it. I hope it fetches a fair price. I wish James could have seen it.

Blues was correct. I did bid $60.00, but just to keep the ball rolling, increase the top bid to $80.00

Harry

Um, did I win?
