I received my spanish boar hunting knife yesterday. It is extremely awesome....knife, hell its a short sword. Love it, great work Christof!!! I'll post pics when I get time.

They can be a bit.... big :) I'm sure you'll get photos up but I'll give it a preview:

Don't forget thread locker on the chicago screws. And do try out a forward lanyard loop. They can be useful on small knives, on choppers, (especially doing water bottles) they can really save you.

sure- loctite blue thread locker, nail polish, plumbers' tape- the screws just need a little grabbing effect to not work loose from carrying around. Thread locker is removable, unlike a full epoxy, so you can still adjust things later.

Great looking long knife, congrats!

I will be joining the clan of the boar knife pretty soon:)

:eek:Wow that knife and sheath looks great in that pic.

Imagine how good it will look in person!!:thumbup:

Not saying you don't take good pics Christoff, but.......:p

I dont take really good photos. I really don't. Once in a while I nail one.

Hoping bear 1889 can give a new perspective on some photos :D

In general the design tends towards a 12-14 inch blade with a 6-7.5 inch handle length, around 1.5 inches broad and .23 to .17 spine thickness. There's a gentle distal taper that increases near the tip. Full convex grinds and while I forge out some on the tip and bevels, I try to leave the stock bar thickness on the tang to help with the balance. Handles thus far have varied from ipe, micarta, argentine lignum vitae, jatoba, and figured maple.

For steels on these i've been mostly going with 8670M or 5160. Both hold up very well. I'm fond of the lanyard tubing pins all the way on them as a forward lanyard can be a real shin and leg saver when chopping. But i've done some pretty multi pin patterns, too.

While certainly more simple than a lot of fighters, they are very servicable field knives and I'm liking the balance and utility of the basic spanish dirk design influence a lot.

DUDE... that thing is bad a$$ Christof.... rock'n sheath too Sierra....:thumbup:
