Just noticed an interesting point in the Wilderness Forum ... it 'crept upon us' during a question thread by PitDog:

Take a look. The Poster has a good question -- why is it Busse fans just don't show up at Wilderness gatherings??

After all, I guarantee our colleagues in Wilderness have LOTS of stuff that needs chopping ... :D;):D

Take a look and offer your opinion. No Flaming Now!!!

Hmmm.

Some interesting 'points' are beginning to develop ...

Let's give this some time.

Oh ... and thanks, both of you!! ["Wealthy, fat alcoholics" indeed!! I am ... not an alcoholic ... not compared to Skunk or Jerry!!]

OP---It's diet-Coke and water from now on! Those Busse's come into view a whole lot clearer! :)

I use my Busse's and other knives all the time, go camping, hiking, hunting etc. But I guess since I dont post all the time "no ones using there Busse's". Now K_Estela I have alot of respect for and he does alot of work in the woods, but I think his views are a bit scewed on this. Busse fans dont really take many other brand names to their gatherings (from what I see) and the wilderness forum guys seem to be really into BRKT and Fallkniven, mora. However that doesnt mean they dont own or use Busse brand or other brands of knives. Its just what THEY use/bring, just like us.

Try this, Amigo:

I lurk over there quite a bit and have learned a lot. They seem like a nice bunch of guys. Only posted once or twice, though.

I completely understand.

Their awesome wilderness skills also intimidate me. OK ... maybe not. :o

I figure Guyon is our scout in that area -- I noticed him creeping over there months ago and followed him. It's been interesting. Rather renewed my youthful interest in all things wild.

Sadly, now that I'm fairly o.l.d. it might be tough to regain the skills I once possessed. I just don't see myself climbing and caving like I used to at 25 and 33, respectively. :o:(

I do, now, have a strange desire to camp far from the city ... and make a lot of fuzz-sticks. :D

I lurk over there quite a bit. I know it is not true about the Busse people. Every year River-8 hosts Rat Mischeif in Skamania county. He has posted an invite both there and here.

"Wilderness Skills" is a lot like what my friends and I used to do whenever we walked out the back door, only without all the neat equipment. John Denver had it right, "Thank God I'm a Country Boy!"

there's other forums?
holy crap there's other forums!

There's other knives  Holy Cow, there are other knives:eek: I am with voracious, glad I am satisfied with what I have   Bring it Wednesday Jerry and Crew!
