Bruce, that's fantastic. Beautiful finish. What's that handle? Is that a silver sheath that we can expect to see a tutorial on sometime?

Dave

The handle is Giraffe Bone.
It's a nickel silver sheath and I'm sorry but I didn't think to set up for a tutorial on this one but I will do one in the future.
I forgot to tell you guys that this was my first knife started and finished in 2001.

You are one awesome knife maker Bruce!! That knife if gorgeous! What kind of pins are those in the handle? Musta been tedious putting them all in and sticking with the pattern.

Bruce That is a cool Knife. What is holding the harley up, a milk crate? I want to know how to make a sheath like that. Bruce

Michael,The pins are nickel silver,I had to make a jig so I could peen the pins(1/16 inch pins)So each one was the correct depth,There are a few key pins that go all the way through to hold the scales together along with the ferrule at the front being put over the front part of the handle to hold it together, yes it was tedious.
Peter,I picked it up at the Blade show last year. The man is from Africa and hits allot of the shows.I have seen some for sale in on of the suppliers catalogs, but I can't remember which one (sorry).
I will do a tutorial on the next one that I do Bruce.
Thanks for all the kind words everybody.

Oh yea Bruce,The kickstand had a bad weld on it and had been replaced so Charlie was able to salvage it out of there shop for me to make the knife blade.

Bruce, do you buy the giaffe bone in slabs or the whole leg bone? I've tried slabbing bone and antler and just can't seem to get it right.

Michael,These were already cut into scales as the whole bone is rather big.I cut allot of scales myself and always have to cut a little oversized and then grind them flat.
CL,I will let Charlie have that engraved on the sheath if he wants to,I was thinking of making the button the logo but decided not to.

Here is what Charlie has to say about his knife:
I finally found time to respond to Bruce's picture of my knife. Some of you remember that he made me a boot knife from a Harley primary chain, last year. Well, we were talking about what other part of a Harley might make a good knife, and knowing first hand how tough a kickstand is, I figured one might make a fine blade. Bruce, being ever accomodating, was more than willing to give it a go, so we decided to do a Price dagger.
As you can all see, the knife turned out beautifully. Bruce's grind lines are flawless, as usual, and his hand rubbed satin finish is second to none. All those pins in the Giraffe bone handle really give the knife an antique flavor, much like the way many of the old rifle stocks were adorned. The sheath is the first all nickel-silver sheath that Bruce has done, but you'd never guess that to look at it. His workmanship on it is flawless and the knife just glides into its home, whenever I can force myself to put it away. Am I ecstatic with the result - Naaahh!!!!
The ones of you here that are contemplating ordering a forged blade of most any style, really owe it to yourself to give Bruce a strong consideration. I guarantee you will be very pleased with the entire transaction from beginning to end.
Charlie
