Here's an Old 112 (that I didn't get)

That's about the going rate for a 2 line micarta 112, occasionally more with the correct sheath. Couldn't tell from the picture if it had a brass or stainless steel spring holder.

That one was in need of polishing and the sheath was not correct . It could have been a 1-1 we're not sure . I gave 90$ for a 2-1 at the 20 yr. reunion in very good shape and not correct sheath . That was 2yrs. ago . In that condition and the seller probably had 20$ shipping on it . Your call . But I would have bid more on it . DM

Picture is worth a thousand words. Need the one in-between. But I do have two # 1s.

300, Nice photos . Thats a good 2-2, the first I've seen . Those are not real common neither are the shedua (segua) wood . All of these came out in the same year 1972 . A lot of changes made quick when the 112 first came out . DM

Yeah, that's where I'm at.

I think if this 112 had been listed correctly (as a 112 instead of Buck and Schrade) it would have done quite a bit better, simply because a lot of potential buyers never saw it.

Could Buck clean up that blade nice and take the scratches out? It looks pretty rough.

BG, Yes, Buck or any experienced knife maker with equipment could polish it easy . Flat, glad your here . These photos 300 posted are good examples of non-radius handles for you to study and compare to the radiused . DM
The shedua wood handles those are nice and still the blade has no nail knick .

I buy "used" knives on the bay and clean them up. I didn't bid on that one for the reasons already stated. It is in rough shape and I try to stay from those and the sheath being a LB7 sheath is also a turn off.

No not me....just a sideline, haven't picked one up in a good while, I quit with
version 7. Just so you aren't shocked I played with Camillus TL-29s also. But thats about over also. Now just the lonely wait for the ones that only are traded in dark alleys for inch thick folds of geenbacks. Me and Dave peering into the darkness.

PS For everyones education. Camera work can make blades look better than they are. Just like the ones above. All were sharpened and were scratched....FYI

My My..a number 1 first version with brass IS a rare 112...Forget NIB with all the correct paperwork and sheath...Unless your going to part with $300.00 and up and get REAL lucky.A 110 1st with all correct box ect went for $1,400.00 or maybe even more several years ago...

But it seems that the 1V1V has two different variations.
Both knives have the steel spring holder.
It looks like that the rivets have different diameter.

Haebbie,

I defer as a expert here, maybe someone else with chime in. I thought that the first version had a brass spring holder and Version 2 stainless holder. That is why I used the mirror in the photo above to show the difference in spring holders. Also consider on the rivet size if your knife has been buffed up and someone has polished the rivets down in size. It looks a little in the photo that the top knife bolsters are slightly rounded on the edge compared with the bottom knife. Just a thought

Hi Herbert,

Thanks for the photo's, looks like the is another variation. However, your 112's are second version, first variation. The data sheet I have shows Version #1 has a brass spring holder as 300 said above.

The data sheet I have shows there were two different second version knives. so vesrion 2, vari 1 has small brass inlay rivets (less than 1/16") and stainless spring holder, inverted BUCK, U.S.A. blade stamp (tip down). version 2, vari 2, looks like vari 1 but, has BUCK, 112, U.S.A stamped on the blade (Tip up).

As I'm no expert and all of the data sheets change it will be interesting to see what the experts have to say about your knife.

Yes 300 and JB, I worte nonsense. Both knives seem to be V1V2.

The second from the bottom up is the V2V2(or)V3

Best,
Haebbie

Thats the way I read it as well, V1v1 has a brass spring holder (or spacer)and stainless rocker rivet . In V2 v1 it has a stainless spring holder . DM

Ok, here's pics of some 112 micarta, top is 1st Version-1st variation,2nd Version-1st variation,2nd Version-2nd variation...and a red micarta 440C.
