I was intrigued by this one.

Imperial037.jpg

1. I like scout knives. I can't afford the minty bone Remingtons you always see on ebay.

2. The obvious look of an Old Timer in sawcut delrin.

3. The Imperial tangstamp.

4. The grind of the blades and that transition, where the sharpened blade meets the choil and kick is very smooth.

Interesting...thoughts on D.O.M.?

Okay,

I'm going to drag out a 3 month old thread to post my latest addition, a 778 with scout emblem:

Nice knives Glenn! I've never made a study of scout knives, so I'd not be much help on the dates. Both are what we have come to know as Scout Leader's Knives, I think. The first one is post 1958, I am pretty sure. And even with the Imperial tang (and possibly blades), has the Ulster/Schrade Walden scales and probably frame. The #778 was a long-running pattern as well, and likely old Boy's Life magazines would be a good source for dating it, and the Imperial.

Hey! Speaking of Boy's Life, Uncle Henry endorsed it, so it has to be good!

Glenn since you collect BSA stuff I have a knife you can have.Handle is bad so I wouldn't want to sell it and since I've been real lucky lately I thought I'd pass it on.I won the Anniversary knife on here and I won a Puma Cadet over at KF.If you look at the pics this knife is marked with the crest on one tang and the Official Boy Scouts of America stamp on the other. It's stamped Western USA on the guard.Since I've been on this forum LT sent me a sheath,Phil gave me a great deal on a 152,Micheal and Larry have helped more than I can say so it is time to pass it on.If you want the knife email me your address and I'll mail the knife.Arnold

Email sent,

Thanks Arnold....

Sorry I missed this one. Post-1972, as per the different shield. :)

Thanks, S&S....

I got to thinking about that blade grind. The clip looks like the DE style clip grinds...

Schrade BSA knives....very nice. I want to make sure I pick up a few more Camillus BSAs soon as well. Shouldn't get as scarce as the Beckers but we will see.
