Comments and critique?
Of course number 1 with the Yin Yang devic and the diamond and horn inlay is my favorite.

I am figureing about 1/4" or a bit less in the fullers.
It will be a Dui Chiarra blade.

Khukuri FAQ

Yvsa:

Is it just me or do #2 and #4 blades have a shape similar to the little villager I was working on when I got sick and sent to you?

And the khuk John Powell used for his khukuri terms/definitions template.

It's probably a good thing we three didn't used to know each other before we got married. We'd have ended up killing or maiming each other after falling in lust with the same girl. VBG

Rusty maybe we all were the same person in a past life and due to the God(s) sense of humor They split us up 3 ways and instead of being 1/2 wits we turned out to be 1/3 wits?

Yes they are similar.
Just something about that shape. I could say more about shapes, but I had better not.(vbeg)

Khukuri FAQ

Absolutely Great, Yvsa!!!! I want one of each! But, if I HAD to narrow it down to one, I'd probably opt for 2 or 3. Truly, I would very much like to see each of them end up in production. In fact, I'm going to start saving up now because, to me, these khuks represent the essence of what khukuris are all about. Again, Yvsa, great job!

Pretty impressive stuff Yvsa! You have definitely grabbed the spirit of the Khuk here! Keep up the good work. I currently don't have any "wall-hangers", but these are so nice that I might have to get one just for that!!

You sure captured the essence here Y.
Are you thinking of making a sisneyri type blade with no fullers?

A 1/3rd wit huh? Well, I'm not taking the 5th on this. I want the whole quart.

Being the opimist that I am --Yvsa, they all look great. One thing about the full curve is you can have a lot of blade on an 18" khukuri and it won't seem to large. Looks like the old style I see in some of my books.

No matter how many times I look, the drawings still make me smile.

:
John what is the sisneyri style blade like?
On some of the older khukuris it seems that the base of the blade is thicker and perhaps the spine and then the blade kind of flatens out. Am I seeing this correctly or is it just the medium I am viewing the blade with?

How about some measurements on the sisneyri style blade now that you have a decent way of obtaining the dimensions?

I would like to have one with the dui chirra style blade for a heavy user.
I would also like to have one made in as close to the exact
style as the khukuris of the time for practice as a true weapon.
I believe they would make a perect pair to hang on the wall in the traditional manner.

Khukuri FAQ

YVSA,
The Sisneyri style has no true fullers. Just a design at the spine from the bolster to the shoulder. I am sending a photo directly to you and I know Howard has a copy...if he would be so kind as to give us a link or post it here.
Blade width isn't the issue here.
